The Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) is a complementary healing program designed to release emotional and negative energy blockages that compromise our psychological and physiological well-being. It specifically addresses traumatic stress, allergies, negative beliefs and worries that have infiltrated our lives and locked us in a negative feedback loop.

Tapas Flemming created the Tapas Acupressure Technique in 1993. She is a licensed acupuncturist in California as well as a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine. She is open with her knowledge and generously shares the details of her technique with anyone who wishes to learn.

Though the Tapas Acupressure Technique is new to the alternative medicine field, it draws from several of the established holistic techniques, especially acupressure. It relies on the biofields that flow throughout the body. This includes clearing negative emotions and energy congestion from the meridians in the body.

The Tapas Flemming Technique does not require the patient to make any lifestyle or belief system alterations. Drinking 6-8 glasses of water after your treatment is the only recommendation. A few simple acupressure points along with the patient putting his attention on the problem is all that is necessary.

If the patient is uncomfortable being touched, the acupressure points can be held within the energy field itself. This involves the appropriate placement of the hands a couple of inches (centimeters) away from the skin's surface but within the radius of the energy field.

If you are performing the Tapas Acupressure Technique on yourself, place your thumb and ring finger to gently touch the bridge of your nose, just inside the corners of your eyes. Next, you place your middle finger on your third eye, which is between and just above the eyebrow level.

With your other hand, cradle your head by placing your thumb at the base of your skull and little finger reaching as far forward as comfortable, creating a cup. This encapsulates the area of your brain where you receive and project visual information and traumatic memory is stored.

The pressure should be minimal and all positions should rest comfortably. While holding this position, you address whatever issue brought you to this technique. There are several affirmations to gently consider as you allow the energy to flow through your blockages.

The Tapas Acupressure Technique postulates that intention precedes the direction of the energy flow. By combining the patient’s intention and the activation of the appropriate acupressure points, the energy that releases the blockages will also release the energy that is stuck in your thoughts and feelings.

Feelings of freedom and peace will indicate that the blockage has been released. At that point, the difficult thought patterns should subside and you should feel relaxed when having the thought of your issue.

Often people describe their experience of the Tapas Acupressure Technique as clouds floating through the sky as they put their attention gently on their problem. At the time of release, the clouds will dissipate.

The thinking in the Tapas Acupressure Technique is that the healing is not actually accomplished by the technique itself. Instead, the technique allows the body and mind to flow freely through a gateway where the healing occurs naturally.

Many believe it is divine light or God’s Divine Love that is touching your spirit. For this reason many people give thanks and gratitude at the end of their Tapas Acupressure Technique.
